1820’s Georgian Townhouse, Hastings

THE PROJECT

Full renovation of a historic five storey Georgian townhouse with sea views from every floor in this beautiful property.

Constructed in 1821, a few years after the Battle of Waterloo, this townhouse is now undergoing a full and sympathetic renovation marking it’s 200th year anniversary.

Part of the facinating history of the property includes when it was taken over by the RAF Association in the early 1960s as a clubhouse for retired WW2 pilots and aircrew. It remained an active and convivial clubhouse for half a century before it was converted back to residential use a few years ago prior to Hector and Natasha purchasing it in 2019.

This sympathetic renovation has been enhanced by the careful curation of the clients art collection which features throughout.

A word from the client...

"Louise is exceptional. She took our broad and ranging brief; listened carefully to our lengthy ramblings; helped evolve a coherent approach; then walked us through the granular details and decisions of every room to ensure a clear brief & direction for our contractors. "Perhaps most importantly, Louise possesses the exceptional gift of being able to deliver clear and concise suggestions whilst also remaining personable (a not-inconsiderable benefit when it was required to push us away from off-colour choices!) "Her commitment to the project sustained from planning all the way through to snagging - repeatedly helping us with recommendations from her not-so-Little Black Book to help find solutions for specific suppliers and products. (Indeed, the budget she helped us save more than covered her fees three times over!) "The result is a home that (even a year on) we're still excited to wake up to. We couldn't have done it without her!"
