Louise putman BA(Hons)

I gained a BA(Hons) degree in Interior Architecture and Furniture from Middlesex University London. As part of my studies, I spent time at L’ENSCI Les Atelier in Paris, focusing on interior space, furniture, and product design, where I had the privilege of learning from the world-renowned designer Philippe Starck.

After graduating, I began my career in Set Design at the BBC, which later transitioned into commercial interior design.

I worked at several leading multi-disciplinary architectural design consultancies in London, including BDP and Sheppard Robson. During this time, I gained invaluable experience working with major clients such as AELTCC, Nike, and Nokia.

Eventually, I moved on to lead the design studio at multinational property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield, where I closely collaborated with the fit-out project management team.

In 2009, after 16 years in London, I relocated to Tunbridge Wells and launched my own business, REcreate Design & Project Management.

My approach to design focuses on creating interiors that truly reflect my clients’ personalities, needs, and styles. I believe in showcasing personal objects and enhancing the architecture of their living spaces. I specialise in crafting relaxed interiors that combine classic, simple Scandinavian designs with contemporary styles. I avoid overly trendy or flashy designs, instead preferring durable, simple, and understated luxury that stands the test of time.

I work closely with my clients throughout the entire project to fully understand their goals and create designs that align with their lifestyle, personality, and daily needs. By rethinking how space is used and offering creative solutions, I help clients improve the balance of their homes, which can significantly enhance their well-being. Many of my client relationships have evolved into repeat business and, in some cases, friendships.

I offer a highly personalized service, taking on only a limited number of projects at a time to ensure each client receives my full attention. My hours are flexible, and my design services are tailored to suit varying budgets on a project-by-project basis.

I am transparent about manufacturer discounts and always pass these savings on to my clients. Every project begins with a free initial consultation, with no obligation to proceed.
